Talent Development Manager

The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association (WFAA)*, the private fundraising and alumni relations organization for the UW-Madison, is seeking a Talent Development Manager.   In this role, you will work closely with the CHRO and key stakeholders to design and deploy learning and development solutions in support of our people goals and in effort to achieve our overall WFAA mission and goals. This position will be responsible for creating meaningful programs to develop the capacities and capabilities of our staff, improve engagement, and increase retention.

 

 

Who is WFAA?
The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association is a private, nonprofit corporation that encourages individuals and organizations to make gifts to the university and to connect with the UW. In 2014, the UW Foundation merged with the Wisconsin Alumni Association® to better serve a growing population of UW alumni and donors. We believe that private support grows out of good relationships between campus leaders, faculty and program staff who need support, and the alumni and friends who want to invest in UW–Madison. We provide important engagement opportunities to link UW–Madison alumni to each other and to their alma mater, building a strong community of Badgers.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and implement a multi-year road map based on company training and development needs.
  • Collaborate with CHRO, HR team and functional leaders to design and implement learning opportunities to address specific leadership and employee development needs.
  • Support and educate leaders and staff on learning best practices and equip them with relevant training, accessible tools, and resources.
  • Leverage existing technology solutions and external platforms to foster and promote innovative learning in classroom, remotely, or blended environments.
  • Plan, design, develop, implement and maintain training materials, job aids and other collateral to ensure that our learning solutions meet the needs of learners.
  • Facilitate instructor led trainings and team development sessions through classroom and/or virtual training initiatives.
  • Continually evaluate training progress and practices to monitor and analyze effectiveness and recommend updates to programs as needed.
  • Build innovative formal and informal learning tools, resources, and programs that enhance organizational success.
  • Manage the learning and development function. 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications:

  • BA or equivalent experience;
  • 5+ years’ professional experience in HR, training, organizational development, instructional design, adult education, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in designing, developing and deploying learning solutions for employees at all levels in face-to-face and remote learning environments.
  • 3+ years of successful learning and talent management delivery experience.

 

Other Qualifications:

  • Expertise in learning and development with demonstrated success in building learning programs that are scalable.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Aptitude for learning – stays current on the latest best practice and industry trends.
  • Ability to program manage multiple programs simultaneously.
  • Innovative and proactive problem-solving with the ability to exercise integrity and sound judgement in complex and ambiguous situations.
  • Practical experience in learning and business needs assessment and consulting.
